Week 52- The Holy Ghost

Hello Amazing and Wonderful Family and Friends-
The weather is soooo beautiful this week. The sun is shining, it is warm and wonderful. The breeze is light and cool. I LOVE IT! I love being a missionary and I love this gospel so much. I know it is true and brings all people happiness.
I love serving the people of Korea and serving on Jeju. I love my companion. She is great and we work hard together. I know this last transfer will be wonderful!
My recent convert from Shinjeong!
We went to the trick art museum!
Today this week in our meetings we talked about Relying on the Spirit and how we can receive conversion through the holy ghost. I love this topic because this is how we can truly feel God’s love for us, understand more of the how the gospel and book of d you can receive revelation. The feelings of the Holy Ghost are indescribable and always different, but it is always a good and happy feeling when truth is manifested. I love how the Holy Ghost can guide us in our daily lives and help us become better.
We tried taking a picture on the bus but it didn’t work and the elders weren’t paying attention.
Almost got sucked down the “cave of despair” (name that movie!)
I have felt the holy ghost so much. I feel it everyday. It leads us in our studies and in our work. It helps us know what we need to do to help people. The Holy Ghost can be our best friend and comforter if we let it. I have never felt God’s love more and the truth of the gospel more in my life. I feel the peace and comfort it gives me. It has also given me warnings to. It is a blessing and a gift that Heavenly Father loves us because we are his children and he wants us to be given a way to guide and direct us.
I made friends with a Zebra!
The lady bugs started taking me to their lair
Sorry I have to cut it short because I don’t have a lot of time. But I do know this gospel is true and that it will change your life forever. It has changed mine and it continues to change mine. I am grateful for the opportunity to share this amazing message to the people around me. I see miracles every day and I am grateful for the Lord and how he continues to shower me with blessings everyday. I am very blessed.
I hope you call can learn to recognize the spirit better, remain worthy, and recognize how you can apply the gospel more into your life.
LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love, Sister Orme
For some reason while I was writing my letter to President Barrow  I kept feeling I needed to include it in my letter this week. As a missionary, I have learned to follow that feeling. Here it is:
Hello President Barrow!

I am still trying to figure out why I am serving with Sister Choi but I think I will figure it out this week. We have so much fun together and we work hard!

It is interesting how old the Jeju side of Jeju is and Seokwipo has a lot of young missionaries. We will figure out why about that as well. I think Elder Carter and I have been given a really great blessing and privilege to work with people that have served for a long time. I love new missionaries but old missionaries are awesome as well. We are planning on working even harder together than we did last week. I am excited to see us step up more now that we have figured kind of how to work better with each other. I know the Lord put us together for a reason and I am really happy.

I am doing well and doing fine in all aspects. I love Sister Choi!! She is amazing. It is a wonderful opportunity to serve with my same group.

I am a little sad though because my last day keeps looming closer and closer and i don’t like it one bit but I know it is okay. I know that as long as I keep working hard/harder then the Lord will bless me.

I am so grateful for you and sister barrow, and ben! You are wonderful and help us out so much. thank you for the newsletter. I read it once and it was during sacrament meeting! i loved it! I will actually be reading it again and making notes. The sacrament is a special and sacred covenant. I am grateful for the lord and how we can be able to become better through him. Heavenly Father is the greatest and knows exactly what we need and how we can receive help to be able to learn and grow. He is teaching me so much and I am learning so much. This time is precious and I am so grateful for how I have spent it. I could not have asked for a better opportunity than to serve the Lord whole Heartedly.

Thank you again for all you do for us missionaries! You do not know how profound your impact is and has been on all of us. I am truly grateful for the Lord and all that he has given me. I know he loves me and I know that the reason I serve is because I know that and love him. I love Korea and cannot believe how amazing Heavenly Father has been to me to give me this opportunity to serve these people and to serve with the other missionaries as well. The blessings are above and beyond counting. I can never return as much as He gives but I know that as I give my all, that is enough. I am so happy and have never been more happy. I wish I could do missionary work, like this, forever. I will forever and always be indebted to Him.

Thank you so much! Love you and have a wonderful week!

Week 51- Shinjeong

Hello to the BEST Family members and Friends!

I hope this email finds you happy and well. So, this week was transfer week! I didn’t leave. Sister Stewart left and is going to the mainland. I have a new companion and guess what she is korean but what is even more crazy is she was part of the korean group that we left with for korea! Super fun! I thought I was going to get someone younger for my last companion but no! I got my own group! She does leave a few transfers after though. Because she is korean she only needed to be in the MTC for 2 weeks. So, she will stay in korea longer. We are super excited! Also, an Elder that I served in Deashin/Keojong for 2 transfers is coming as well! He is so fun and we work well together. The Jeju part of Jeju are all SUPER old missionaries. There are two parts of Jeju. The Jeju side and also Seokwipo. There are only 8 missionaries on the island. We are a zone and a district. When I was in Shinjeong they were a part of the same zone but it has changed. That change was made a while ago too.
Going to Busan!

I love serving on Jeju and I am excited to spend my last transfer with one of my great friends. Her name is Choi Yeu Jin. She was also Sister Benbrook’s last companion as well, which is fun.
Well, I guess you are all curious as to why I am late with emailing. If not, that is okay. But I will tell you anyway. Since, it is my last transfer I get to choose where I want to for one of the transfers. But since we are on Jeju is it a little hard. Since we have a transfer meeting where almost all of the missionaries come together, we were able to go. At this meeting, those who are leaving the next day give a small testimony, and then they do a special musical number for everyone. I love transfer meetings. I have not missed one at all! I am so grateful. Monday during transfer meeting it hit me really hard how short time is. I am amazed by how fast time flies. It hit me hard because I knew that I was next and was going to give a testimony to all of the missionaries on my last day. I cannot believe it at all. In 6 more weeks I will be doing what those missionaries did. I cannot believe it, but that doesn’t mean I will stop now. I won’t stop until I am released and even then I can always continue to be a missionary. Just because I don’t have a badge doesn’t mean I am not a missionary. I love being a missionary. It is the best thing in the whole world!!!

Lee Jin Rei (member)

So, on to Shinjeong. We were able to meet about 7 people  there which is a great blessing. I am so grateful to be able to see these people. The first 3 were members that I could meet, the next two were my investigators from when I served there and they are still meeting the missionaries. They are the Mother and Son that we dropped when I was serving there and I was so sad to see them go but we met with them again and started teaching them again. I love them. Then the next one was my recent convert from Shinjeong (She was my first baptism with Sister Benbrook) I am sooooooooo HAPPY to report that she is doing amazing and is coming to church too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooo happy. I hadn’t seen her since she got baptized. She got super busy planning a wedding. She is happily married and is pregnant!!! She is so cute, happy and beautiful. I am so grateful for the tender mercies of the Lord. I was able to figure out time to meet with her and He helped make it happen. Also, she is doing well and going to church. I was so sad when she got super busy because she wasn’t coming to church. I thought she wouldn’t come back for a while and I was sad. I think Heavenly Father knew I needed to see her. I never wanted to be that missionary that baptized someone and then they went less active the next week. (not that that is the missionaries fault but still) I am so happy to see her and will be attaching pictures of all the people we met. I felt so much JOY going back to my first area. The members I met were so shocked by my korean and were happy that I progressed.

Landing in Jeju!
I love Korea so much! I have never been happier then when I have been serving and giving my all to these people. There is no greater joy than helping the work of the Lord. I love missionary work and I know who I am! ( we say these two things everyday before we go to work. sister gilbert! don’t worry i always remember who i am! everyone i have served with now says it because of me. i am still keeping it alive.) My heart is so full and swollen because it is filled with the love I have for Korea, the people I serve, the people I know, the people I serve with and the people who love me back. I so grateful for the gospel and I know that it is true. I am so happy to know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us. He wants us all to be happy and to live with him again. I know this gospel is true with all of my heart. I am excited to see what is in store for me these next 6 weeks. I am excited and know the Lord has a lot waiting for me. President Barrow kept telling me to figure out why I have received someone from my own group as my companion. I will figure it out. Heavenly Father knows best!
Please be the BEST missionary you can be! It doesn’t matter if you have a badge or not, continue to help the Lord bring in his children. They need your help and there are some people who only you can help. One of my MTC teachers told that if I imagined everyone in white and some of those people told me that I promised them that I would find and help them get back to the Lord, I will realize how important missionary work is. I know for sure that there are people who you promised to bring back. I know you can do it. They are counting on you and so is the Lord. With the Lord nothing is impossible. I know that to be true. I have lived those moments and I know that nothing will be more special than to help bring back Heavenly Father’s lost sheep. It is a sacred and most powerful duty on earth. Do ALL that you can to serve the Lord TODAY. He doesn’t want you tomorrow. HE WANTS YOU TODAY.
Love you tons!!!!!!!

Week 50- General Conference

Hello Dearest Family and Friends!
Oh what an amazing weekend! First off, this week is transfer call week. Can you believe that 6 weeks has already gone by?? It flies too fast. Next week is transfer meeting, which also means the beginning of my last transfer in this beautiful country of Korea. I love being a missionary and I will always treasure this time. I have learned so much and have been so humbled by the Lord and all of the blessings He has given me. Since my last transfer is soon approaching, I have been thinking a lot lately about what kind of person I want to be when I come home and what kind of missionary I want people to know me as. I am grateful to say that I am happy for the work I have done and for the work I am doing. I am so grateful for the tender mercies of the Lord.
Last P-day we went to Aqua Planet Jeju. It was sooooo much fun! It has the biggest tank in the world! I kept thinking of Creed and I when we went to D.C. and we went to the D.C. Zoo about 5 times within a week. Too fun. I know Creed (Elder Orme) would have loved it.
Our baptism was an amazing experience and miracle. The Lord has really blessed our wonderful and dear friend. She has the Holy Ghost now and I know she will be able to be truly converted and follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. It was the most spirit filled baptism I have ever been too. There was a physical presence of the Lord there and it was powerful and palpable.
I love this gospel with all of my heart. I love General Conference. I had a few questions and all of them were answered. I know what the answers are now and what I will do with the inspiration and guidance that the Lord has given me. I am excited to implement what we learned in General Conference now and in the future. I feel like I have grown so much and I have seen that progress. I am so grateful for this experience and I have truly become so blessed by the Lord.
I would like to also make a tribute to my parents. They have taught me so many things to prepare for this mission and have helped and prepared me to become the person I am. They are still teaching me and will continue teaching me forever. I am so grateful for you two. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has blessed me with the best parents in the whole wide world! It is not easy being a parent but they succeeded and still succeed everyday with their constant example and fervent faith. I am grateful for the gospel that allows our families to live and be with each other forever. I am grateful for Christ who has allowed us to be able to see our loved ones again. I am grateful for him and all that he has done for us. I am grateful for the sacrifices of my dad and mom for helping us live a happy life and a life of learning, growth, and a home that was filled with the Gospel. I kept thinking of my family during General Conference and how they have blessed me. Our home was a piece of Celestial Heaven. I am grateful for my parents for being righteous to be able to keep us all in line and helped us keep a good head on our shoulders.
I am so grateful for the Lord. He has done all things for us because He loves us! Sustain the Prophet. The Lord knows what he is doing and will always help and guide us individually and through his prophets. Go out and serve someone, make someone’s day, bear your testimony, share your light. Do all that you can to help others come unto Christ and be awakened in God. God loves all of His Sheep!
I love you all tons!!!!

Week 49- Baptism and Easter

Hello Dear wonderful Family and friends!
Our investigator got baptized this week! It was one of the most amazing and spirit filled baptisms I have ever experienced in my life! Our investigator has truly converted and just loves the Gospel, and has a firm testimony of God and Jesus Christ being present in her life. She is amazing and truly wonderful! I am so proud and happy for her. She has such a strong testimony and loves the gospel. I am so happy for her!
Our branch
Our wonderful and amazing friend (investigator) who got baptized. ^^
Sorry this week is going to be short but I will extend the letter next week. We really had no time at all to email. But I do just want to say that I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and the sacrifice he made for us to be able to become clean again, feel renewal, start over and become better than we once were. I love this gospel and know it is true with all of my heart!!!!
Miracles do happen. Our investigator laughed at people that believed in God. She said that God was for the weak and since she was a strong person and didn’t need God. But look at her now. The gospel changes people’s lives. She has realized that not only the weak need God but so do the strong people. EVERYONE needs God and EVERYONE needs Christ. As we let them into our lives we can feel their love more and feel more direction, peace, and happiness in our lives.
You are all the best! Remember Jesus Christ and what he did for you during this season.
