Hello Wonderful Family and Friends!!
Wow, time flies way too fast and I wish it would go slower. Happy New Year to everyone!
This week was amazing! Full of miracles, as usual. Everyday is a miracle!
Every week for service we work at this old people’s therapy center. I can’t quite say it right in English. It is a place where really old people go to receive therapy, do activities, and eat some food. It is a wonderful place! The old people are just the CUTEST things ever. They are always asking us questions and talking to us or telling us we are beautiful. I love them. A lot of them have Alzheimer’s or dementia or something else in that category. They ask us the same things or say the same things all the time. They just love us and they always stare at us or talk to us when we are with them. It is such a joy and highlight of the day to serve them. We help them with crafts, their therapy, moving them around, and feeding them. I love it! I am always excited to come! I am sad this week we can’t go because we have a zone meeting. But I just want to say that I thought I loved people before my mission but I love them even more so now! They are just so stinkin’ cute, so kind, and so happy even though they can’t do everything themselves. One grandma she was kind of a grump but now she loves us and smiles more.
Everyone is wanting to hear about New Years day, so I will tell you how we celebrated it in Korea. It was amazing! What most Koreans do is wake up super early to hike a mountain or go somewhere beautiful to see the sunrise of the new year. We went to the beautiful beach. It was absolutely freezing but completely worth it. We were with one of our branches, the Keojeong branch. We woke up at 4:30 am! Super early, we were exhausted by the end of the day. We ate some dokgook (which is a traditional soup with rice cake, seaweed, and other deliciousness), and sang some hymns with the branch. Then we all watched the sunrise together. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I will share some photos below.
We saw many miracles this week. We have had less actives calling us all throughout the week. These less actives have never ever called us. They called us for advice and for different things. We were soooo grateful because these less actives are reaching out to us. Heavenly Father is helping us out so much!
Something that I have been really thinking about this week is change and also having enough humility to change for the better. There are a lot of people that I see around me that are not willing to change because they don’t think the small little things will make a difference in their life. Also I have been thinking about how simple the gospel is. I think people overlook it too much and that is where doubt, despair, questions, rationalization, sin, and stagnation start springing into existence. The answers to all of the primary questions are true. If you read the scriptures, pray, go to church, and follow the commandments, it makes a world of a difference. All of them are important but when there is not one being done, eventually all the rest follow, then people become unhappy and stuck. I am so grateful that I have been taught that. I could not imagine the world without the gospel. The talk “Which Way do you Face?” By Elder Lynn G. Robbins addresses this perfectly. Which way are you facing? You cannot follow two masters, you can only serve one. If you are not serving one, you are serving the other one. It is black and white. That is how our decisions are.
here is the link:
There are two quotes that I want to share:
“Courage is not just one of the cardinal virtues, but as C. S. Lewis observed: “Courage is … the form of every virtue at the testing point.”
-Do we have the courage to make the right decision? Do we have the courage to follow the Lord rather than the ways of men even if there is an earthly consequence attached?
“Trying to please others before pleasing God is inverting the first and second great commandments. It is forgetting which way we face. And yet, we have all made that mistake because of the fear of men.”
-Are we pleasing God in our decisions that we make?
I have been trying to think of ways that I can improve and ways that I can stretch but also Heavenly Father pulls and stretches me in ways that I never thought possible. I am grateful for this time of year because we are able to reflect again on our decisions and how our life is. I am grateful that we can start basically clean and new and become better. It never hurts to want to be better. ^^
I am so grateful for you and for all the prayers and support you give me. I can feel them and they have been manifested in all of the miracles we have been receiving. I know that the Lord is always on our side when we face him with our hearts, mind, and spirit.
I LOVE YOU ALL!
I hope everyone has an amazing new year! I also hope that we all strive to be better, kinder, stronger, and better!
You are all the best!

Hello Dearest Friends and Family!
What a great week filled with inspiring and uplifting talks. I want to write all of my thoughts and feelings for every talk but alas there is not a lot of time. I wanted to go over the themes that I thought were throughout the general conference. There is a lot.
-Be firm and Steadfast in Christ. As we become more firm in him we are able to use his atonement. Through his atonement everything is made right. We are healed and taken care of by the atonement. Oh how ever grateful am I for the sacrifice that Christ did for us. There is no way that we would be able to move along in life without the Atonement. I know that it heals, comforts, strengthens, and builds us up to become who Heavenly Father knows we can be.
-Have your eyes toward the Temple. The temple is an expression of God’s love for us. We are able to feel his hand in our lives more as we attend the temple. Temples are a blessing for us and is a place of refuge from the world. We feel peace and the Holy Ghost more powerful there than in any other place.
On thursday our ward had a picnic! We hiked up a mountain and ate food at the top. It was a blast! One of our investigators was able to come!
It was beautiful! Family, we are going when we come to Miryang!
At the top there is this old fashioned fire signal structure for war. It reminds me of Lord of the Rings. It was so amazing!
-Be ready to stand and have courage to be firm. As the world is ever so changing it is important that we stand strong and firm in our beliefs. I know that this gospel has always and ever will be a blessing in my life and in the life of those around me. I see the blessings of it everyday. I see it as it touches people’s hearts as they become willing to follow the Lord because they know it is right. I like the quote by C.S. Lewis: “Courage is every form of virtue and the test of all things”. What a great quote. I love it and hope that every time there is a need for courage that we are able to use it and stand firm. The lord is always there for you.
-Know that God loves you and he wants to give you blessings. He will answer your prayers. I believe this to be very true. I saw it in my life this week. I had questions that desperately needed to be answered. Through my prayers, and through our leaders my questions were answered. I cannot describe the joy that I felt as I recieved those answers. I know that because God loves me, and loves each and every one of us, he wanted me to feel comfort and receive answers to my questions. I am forever grateful to the Lord. I know he is ever mindful of us. It is us that have to recognize his hand in our lives. Life is not easy but as we see the positive things that have happened in our life, those bad parts go away and seem less important. I know that this time is for us to grow and learn. We are being refined and becoming our full potential. I know everything happens for a reason. I know that as we strive to learn and grow from what life throws at us we will be able to come out stronger and more powerful then ever before.
-Prepare our testimony to become a strong testimony. We need to daily make our testimony stronger. We cannot uplift others if we are not uplifted ourselves. As we strengthen our testimony we are able to understand the reasons for all things and why this life is so important. We are here to prepare to meet God and also prepares ourselves to live with him again.
-Share our light with others. We share our light with others so they can be blessed as well. I hope and pray that every person I meet in this life sees that light within me. I strive to make them feel important and loved. As we add more light to our light, we are able to strengthen and share our light with others.
-Do family history work because we are eternal. Family History work is so important. I find it’s significance in the fact that we all can become an eternal family. I am grateful that the Lord has provided a way for us to be together as a family forever and to be able to see those loved ones, who have passed away, again. I know that we will see those who have passed away and we will be able to be with them again. I think of my grandparents on both my parent’s sides. I cannot wait to be able to see them again and rush into their arms again. I am grateful that there is no end to this life but it continues and it continues with our loved ones.
-Listen to the Lord’s Servants. As life gets harder and more difficult it is becoming more and more important to listen to the Lord’s servants. The Lord’s Servants have the voice of the Lord. “Whether it is by my own voice, or by the voice of my servants, it is the same” (Bible- Amos 3:7). The Lord speaks through his servants. They speak the word’s of the Lord. The Lord is giving us guidance and counsel. We will be protected and taken care of, if we heed their voices.
-Obedience. Why do we need to obey God’s Commandments? I think the Lord knows better than we do. I believe that to be true. As we remain obedient, we are able to recieve all the blessings that the Lord wants to give us. I know that as we strive to be as obedient as we can, we will be more blessed than we could ever imagine.
-Prayer and Scripture Study. Daily Prayer and Scripture study will be a shield of protection. I know that through prayer and scripture study we can receive answers to all of our questions. Our questions of the truth of this church can be answered by prayer and scripture study. We cannot know if this church is true, without these things.
-Distractions and Choices. The world is becoming ever more distracting as there is more technology and things to be busy and distracted with. What is the most important? Are we making choices that help us for good or for bad? There are always good choices but what is the best choice? I am always reminded daily of what is the best choice as we plan our day. I know that as we choose good choices our life will be blessed and we will be happy.
I have had so many questions answered and confirmed to me this week because of General Conference. I am grateful for the inspiration of church leaders because I know that the Lord loves us so much that he wants us to feel comfort and wants us to receive answers to our questions. In the Women’s Conference I loved watching the cute little koreans and I couldn’t feel more amazed and happy that I have been called to teach the Korean people. They are so special to me. I know this is where I am supposed to be.
Here is a link to Conference if you want to listen and/or read. I know that everyone who listens will be blessed. You can listen and/or read it in any language!
I was reading an article in a church magazine called The Liahona. There was a story in there that I really liked. The main person in this story is a man. His wife was a member of this church and he supported her and sometime would come. He loved bringing the missionaries over to bash them with questions and tell them how wrong they were. He thought he was close to getting to be with his family all sunday rather then it being filled with religion. One night as the missionaries were talking to him, he was bashing them so much that the missionaries said they couldn’t teach him because he wasn’t willing to listen. That same night he looked at the Book of Mormon on the table and said to himself “This book is either going to change my life or I will have just wasted a few minutes trying to find out”. As he was reading he felt the power of this book and believed it to be true. It had changed his life and the life of his family. He eventually joined the church and his been a blessing ever since then.
I know this church is true! I am so grateful for missionary work. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I am grateful for the power, strength, and comfort that come out from reading the Book of Mormon.
I LOVE YOU ALL TONS!!!

One more thing. This talk is great for people who are wondering why we do missionary work!
Love you all!
Hello Dearest Family and Friends!
First off I want to congratulate Graham and Rhandi on their anniversary yesterday!!!!!!! Is it your 9th? 10th? So awesome! I love you both tons!!!!!!!
Also, Alli and Ryan, and Maude and Michael have been married for a year now! Congratulations to you both! I love you all!
Sister Johnson and I have realized how much more we are becoming sister missionaries. A family in our branch was moving and gave us a ton of liahonas. we took up our personal time reading them. It felt like Christmas we were soooooooo excited! We also were visiting an investigator and there was a mirror by her door. We were wondering how it would feel to have a skirt above the knee….ooohhh it scared us and we put our skirts back down. who knew that i would get so used to wearing long skirts that short skirts scare us! ^^ even if it is still modest! so funny. we were dying with laughter.
So sister Johnson used to have this cute giraffe thing that one of her companions made her but it fell apart. so we have been hiding the head around the house to see if the other person will find it. I opened the fridge and I saw this. It is a little morbid but sooooooo funny!
This week, as always, was a great week! It has been raining a TON! Today is incredible. It is just pouring loads. The weather has got a lot cooler. Apparently fall is starting. Sister Johnson and I have no clue what happened to the summer because it was not the usual Korean hot, sticky, and humid summer that it usually is. Crazy! Everyone kept warning me about it. So I am glad we had a nice summer.
I was reading Ether 11 on saturday and made a few observations from this chapter. It is not a spiritually uplifting kind of chapter but it is about the destruction of man as it becomes more wicked, then the people repenting and changing their ways so they can be righteous. I was thinking about how we sometimes close our hearts and do not hearken to the voice of the Lord. How can we make sure to always have an open heart and mind to be able to listen to the Lord? It all comes down to one word: obedience; Obedience opens our hearts. It also opens the flood gates of blessings. When we obey, we are able to accomplish all that the Lord wants. We are able to fulfill our full potential. If we love God enough, we would be willing to do anything for Him. Do I love God enough? Do I love God enough to put my own wants on the sacrificial altar? What is holding me back? I would like to think that I would. Would I be like the young ruler and walk away in shame? Or would I be like the apostles and immediatly dropped everything to follow Christ? Is this sacrifice for me or is it for others? Are the things that I learned in the life more for me or is it for others as well? I have a lot to accomplish and I know the Lord will help me do it as long as I try my hardest. He will bless me. I hope I have the faith, determination and courage to do it.
I came to the conclusion that I would do everything for the Lord. I am willing to sacrifice all for him if he needs me to. It would be hard but it is always doable. The Lord never gives us anything that is too hard to handle. At first you think that there would be a few things that would be hard to sacrifice but then you realize those things don’t matter. What really matters is what you do with what the Lord gives you.
This also goes along with the “Be Strong and of a Good Courage” talk given by President Monson. Courage is needed! “Everyday courage has few witnesses. But yours is no less noble because no drum beats for you and no crowds shout your name”. “Courage is not limited to the battlefield or bravely catching a thief in your house. The real tests of courage are much quieter. They are inner tests, like remaining faithful when no one’s looking…like standing alone when your’e misunderstood.” “They had the courage to do not that which was easy but that which was right”. “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.” and my favorite! Joshua” I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee….Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed for the Lord thy God is with thee withersover thou goest”.
I know and believe that the Lord is always there for us, no matter what. Be strong. I hope you all can have the faith, determination, and courage to do all that the Lord asks. So much is given to us and the Lord expects so much out of us. You can do it!
You are all the greatest. Keep it up! LOVE YOU TONS!!!
I LOVE MISSIONARY WORK!!!
