Week 56- Last Week of the Mission

Hello most wonderful, amazing, supportive, and the best family and friends in the whole wide world!!!

We had our baptism this week!!!!! Our wonderful Ahn Jeh Rin is baptized and she is so happy. We actually spent almost all day today with her and she is doing wonderfully. It was a wonderful baptism filled with the spirit. It felt so good and she only had to get baptized once! Our last investigator had to get baptized twice because her clothes/foot came out of the water. ^^ It was amazing and we are proud and super happy for you!
Our Baptism!!! ^^

Today we hiked the famous Halla Mountain today! It was sooooooo fun! The hardest part was going down. My legs hurt so bad, I am more scared for tomorrow though. I will be hobbling like a grandma all day!

Well, everyone. It is my last week. To be honest, I am not sure what to say. I cannot believe the time. It has been too fast. I have learned so much and now I have to start the next chapter of my life. It is a weird feeling. I am SUPER excited to come home but at the same time I DON’T want to leave. It is bitter/sweet. I will miss so many things about being a missionary and about living in Korea. I will miss being a super star on the street because I am a foreigner, I will miss Koreans saying/yelling “Hello” to me, I will miss doing everything on the floor (which I will just continue to do but it is different because i alone will do it at home), I will miss old grandmas telling me I am beautiful, I will miss serving the people of Korea, I will miss the food, I will miss all of it! Needless to say. I WILL MISS EVERYTHING about Korea and being a missionary. Being a missionary has been one of the greatest things I have done so far. I have seen the progression and growth that has helped me come closer to my savior and heavenly father, it has also helped me become a better version of myself. I have learned so much in being able to be a better daughter, sibling, friend, future wife, and future mother. I cannot express in words, pictures, or feelings about how much I value this experience and could not have wished for a better experience. I know that I will remember this time forever.
Since, I have been a missionary I know more about the gospel and why it is so important. No one knows until they have a taste of it. They just have to follow through to see the blessings. I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father for cutting me down and building me up. He has shaped me and I know no one else can. I have never seen so many weaknesses but then also so many strengths. I am not a perfect person but I know for sure that the only way to become a better version of ourselves is through Christ. Christ did everything for us and he has enabled us to learn, grow, change, restart, and has given us hope for a better future.
This church is true. I feel it and I know it. I have done all to get that unshakable knowledge and faith. I hope you all can do the same. Learn for yourself if the gospel is true. YOU can only do it. No one can do it for you. I am so grateful to be able to declare to the world my testimony and the truthfulness of the gospel. There is no better opportunity.
THIS CHURCH IS TRUE. Nothing will be able to change that fact.
Not one ounce of the effort I have given to this work will be wasted. I know that this is helping me become what Heavenly Father wants me to become. I am happy because I have the gospel in my life. It has been one of the biggest blessings I have ever been given. I know it will continue to bless me forever and into the eternities.
You are all the best!!!! Thank you for all of your love, support, prayers, everything. I have felt it and have gained a lot of strength from it. You are amazing!!
I love you all!!

Week 25- Haunted scrolls

Hello Dearest Family and Friends-
Wow, what a week. We were so busy! Mostly because we are planning a fantastic Mini MTC program that will start tomorrow and end thursday. It will be 3 days of teaching the members in our branch how to share the gospel. I am so excited and we are so happy to help this area grow. We know it will be a blessing. Unfortuneately our Korean Elder, Elder Moon, has transfered to a new area so we are hoping he will be able to come back for the second because we really need him! Our new Elder is Elder Hansen, He is our District leader and just switched with Elder Moon. We are excited to see how he can help push Miryang forward now that Elder Moon has helped so much. He was here for 4 transfers! So long. Sister Johnson and I are staying together! ^^ I will tell you more about it next week. 🙂
Cutest puppy ever! So gentle, so quiet and sooooooo cute!

This week I had some more fun eating adventures… I had jellyfish (soooo interesting, not sure how to describe the texture), raw beef (which tastes just the same when it is cooked, i guess that is good. ^^ people eat raw beef ALOT here), also raw fish again (as usual), then raw eel with the spine still in it (hard to describe the texture as well, it was interesting). Yes, I had all of this in one week and only 2 days out of the week. So, interesting. I literally can eat anything now!!! We also had this super terrible, bitter root drink that the Elder’s investigator gave us. They said it was good for our health. Sister Johnson said it is probably the worst thing she has ever had, she said she would rather have dog meat again rather then drink that again. She couldn’t finish it. It seriously was terrible, I just chugged it down! ^^  Ooh I love food adventures. I can eat anything now. Well, maybe.
Here is a picture of Gramps. So cute!

So, last monday we went to a buddhist store. So cool! Sister Johnson and I bought these really cool scroll things. Then we were looking at the front of them after we bought them, later that night, then we realized there were some words we didn’t understand on the front. We looked them up and they were super bizarre and kind of strange words. We called Elder Moon about them and he asked me how I knew those words. He asked me where I got them and I told him they were from the scrolls. Come to find out they were excorcist scrolls. What?!?! We were so shocked! We had no clue. They were soooo cool looking. He said one of the scrolls was an excorcist scroll, the other a calling of spirits scroll, and he didn’t talk about the other one. He told us to throw away the scrolls we had. We did the next day. So scary! We put them in a different room so they were not in the same room while we were sleeping. I am glad we had a Korean. I was wanting to get some for Creed because he loves that kind of stuff too, but I will get him something else. It is hilarious. 2 innocent Americans getting satanic scrolls. who knew? I am grateful that we have extra protection from the Lord. Phew! ^^

We met with Gramps (kim Jay Shik) this week. He is soooo cute. He is the 80 year old man we met. We gave him a Book of Mormon in English as well. He wants to meet again because we were only able to meet for 30 minutes because he had a random meeting to go to. We are also refferring him to the Elders in his area but he loves us so we will still see him occasionally. He has a great desire to learn. I love it!
This week’s weather has been crazy but good. We had typhoons again. The weather was perfect weather. Ahh the best! Then a TON of rain and them super heat. It is crazy this week.
I was reading the Priesthood Session talk by President Monson, the Be Strong and of a Good Courage talk. Wow, it is sooooooooooooo good. I was going to write the highlights but I forgot the talk at home, next week. It was so amazing. I LOVE THAT TALK. It is so important to remember that the Lord is always with you but to also stand up for what is right. Now, that it comes closer to the second coming and the hastening of the work, we must stand for what is right. Despite losing friends, family, job, etc. Those are all temporary things but yes they are hard things to lose as well. As we stand for what is right and what we believe we will forever be blessed now and for the eternities. It is now game time and we must prepared for whatever storms come. I love being able to say that we are missionaries and that we are here to serve the Lord. Time is so precious and this life so important. We must make the most of it and do everything we can to be on the side of the Lord. Did you all see the new Mormon message??? Wow, powerful. The Lord wants you on HIS SIDE TODAY! As we strive to be on the Lord’s side we will see the fruits of our labors. I promise you all that you will be blessed and taken care of. I know it will happen. Maybe not in the ways you think but it will come. Today is the day to choose who’s side you are on. There is no middle ground and you can’t choose both. I choose the Lord’s side. The other side is a dangerous side which will only lead to pain, sorrow, and loss of blessings. Which one would you rather choose. Definitely the Lord’s side.
Keep working hard and be the best people possible that you can be. I love you all! I appreciate everything that you are doing to be the best member, mother, father, missionary, friend, etc. You can do it! Remember the Lord will always remember you if you remember him.
I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!!

Week 24- Mission calls, Grandpa, and Cute little Davis

Hello Dearest Family and Friends!
First off, my english is getting worse. So please forgive any mistakes. I have noticed in my journal and in my letters that I am sometimes not good at english anymore. I am trying to keep it up but for some reason it is going down hill without me. ^^
This week was amazing! There are a lot of miracles happening in Miryang right now. We, the missionaries, feel that the Lord is preparing this branch to become a ward! We have so many investigators popping up everywhere. Old records/old investigators are wanting to meet with us. We are searching and looking for less actives. We have been updating their records. There are some that want to meet! We are trying our hardest to get things going and the Lord is providing the rest. I cannot write all of the miracles but there were about 3-4 in the space of two hours on saturday. The rest of the week was basically the same but throughout the days. We are being blessed. I cannot thank the Lord enough for what He is doing for Miryang.
Found this beautiful shirt at a thriftshop. It has people on it. I love it but I don’t wear it during missionary work.

Well, this week especially on the 2nd and 3rd of August a year ago a lot things happened for our family. I was reminiscing on these events. August 2nd was mine and Creed’s year mark of receiving our mission calls. It was fun because I got to read what I thought that whole weekend. Then August 3rd we opened it at 1 am, then mom was packing and flying to Seattle, Grandpa passed away at 3pm and little Davis was born at 6pm . Wow, it was an amazing weekend full of every single emotion possible. ^^  I am grateful for being a missionary and being called to where the Lord needs me. I am grateful for the wonderful legacy that my grandparents have passed down. Especially since Grandpa Dance was our last living grandparent, I was reflecting a lot on all 4 of our grandparents. I CANNOT wait to meet Grandma Helen and Grandpa Jesse and get to know them more, and I am excited for our reunion with Grandma Jean and Grandpa David. I am grateful to them because they raised the most amazing and fantastic parents in the whole wide world!!!!!!!! Then little Davis, our nephew, joined the Orme family. Wow, I cannot believe he is now 1 years old! Where does the time go????? HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVIS!!! I am sad that he won’t really know who we are when Creedy and I get back. Don’t worry we will warm him up to his favorite aunt and uncle soon enough! ^^ I bore my testimony on fast sunday because I am grateful for the great plan of salvation that allows our families to live forever. I could not imagine life without my family. I am so grateful that I am able to share this happy message to others. I love you all soooooo much! Thank you so much for all that you do and for all of your support!
Today we went in a cable car! It was sooo fun!
DSCF6092
Yes, that is the people shirt and yes, i wore it for pday. ^^ We are on the cable car!
IMG_1117
We had such a fun pday! So we went into a cable car to go on to a huge mountain and we went hiking everywhere. We didn’t expect that! It was so cloudy and misty that our hair got completely wet. We also went to some rocks that have ice all over it in the middle of the summer. It starts in march and ends near the end of summer but unfortunately because of the rain there was no ice at all. :/ but i want to go with our family. such a fun adventure!
IMG_1151
It has been raining so much lately but it is soooooo hot! We sweat all day long even though it is raining. It is an adventure trying to make sure we have an outfit that will not show off our sweat too much. ^^ Is that too much information? Sorry. But welcome to humid and hot korea. ^^ Love it! You know, I love Korea. The people are just so wonderful and amazing here. Grandparents totally rule the world here. Sometimes they decide that their moter chairs are cars! Sometimes those things can go super fast! Who knew? I didn’t until I came to Korea. Sometimes you see people careening down the hill and around corners at full speed. So funny. I love it!
Beautiful part of Miryang
DSCF6016
By the way. We got 2 new pamphlets and they are just for the Korea and Japan missions. We are testing them out to see how effective they are. We have used them once or twice so far and they went really well. One is about the missionaries and the other is about God.  I have to show you who is on it. You would never believe it. I will send pictures next week. When I opened the pamphlets I was sooooo surprised and told everyone who it was. So fun. It is someone that we all kind of grew up with. We all know this person. Derek knows him especially well. 🙂 well, i won’t tell until next week.
By the way there is a Less active family that the whole branch is working on the come back to church. Because of some things that have happened they struggle with coming to church but they love everything about the gospel and love all of the church members but they feel unworthy to come to church because of what happened. We are all in their lives. One of their sons is going to Utah for school. Perfect. And their daughter wants to go to BYU provo. Perfect as well. We know that the gospel is blessing their life and they are getting their. We have full faith they will. I want everyone to know that you are always worth the saviors atoning sacrifice. The sacrament has cleanising power. The atonement has cleansing power that can heal our souls. It is never too late to come back into the fold. You can always come back. Heavenly Father and the Savior are always waiting with their arms out stretched for you to come to them. Be willing toput out your hand to! You will be blessed more than you know as you do so.
I love being a missionary! I LOVE YOU ALL TONS!!!! Have a great week!

I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!!! Week 7<–WHAT???

I seriously LOVE being a missionary. It can be soo hard but it is so rewarding at the same time. I have come to realize that we must not focus on everything at once, that is where you get too overwhelmed. I have learned to look at things little by little. Sometimes you want to baptize the whole world but you can only do that as you save one soul at a time. That is how Jesus Christ works. He saves a soul one by one. Yesterday was a momentous occasion for 울산 (Ulsan). We had TWO fantastic people take steps into the waters of baptism. One was our investigator 오지윤 (Ohjeeyoon) and the Elders investigator 백송민 (Peksongmeen) He is 17 or 18! Wow, the craziest but most amazing day of our life! The spirit was bursting at this baptism. I am soooooo happy! I still can’t believe it either. I can’t believe that they are baptized. It is amazing! I am sending pictures! This week was definietly crazy but it all worked out! Heavenly Father has been blessing us sooooooooooooooooo much!!!

So, I am answering mom’s questions and I thought everyone would want to know.
Korea is a very beautiful place but can also be dirty. Which is fine. I LOVE KOREA! the streets, the shops and places remind me of russia. Old grandmas sell food on the streets and there are a lot of street markets.
I will conquer the world!

Everytime we pass koreans they always say: SOOO BEAUTIFUL! hahah in korean of course. it is hilarious and we love it. I am going to miss it so much when I leave korea. I am going to miss the grandmas calling us beautiful and the korean people freaking out when they see us all the time. haha.
There are a not a lot of foreigners here but when there are we try to avoid them. hahaha. for some reason they weird us out. most of time we have had really bad feelings when we are with them so we try to avoid them because they are always scary….well not all the time but sometimes we wouldn’t have feelings around them. but we say hi to them and that is that, they are not super interested in us. one time a girl and a guy came up to us and we talked to them for two seconds. the boy seemed interested in what we were talking about but once the girl found out we were missionaries she said bye. haha.
Me and my group that left from the MTC. We met at training meeting.
DSCF1487
koreans like hello kitty and cute things. i love it! hahah sometimes you will see men wearing and using really girly things but it is completely normal here. i love it! hahah
i have not felt anyones enmity to japan or of any place. the young koreans actually really like the japanese style. a lot of chinese and japanese people come here.
Jordan is doing great! he and his mom didn’t progress super well this week but we will bring them back on track.
We walk, ride buses or take the occasional taxi to go places. I love it!!! you get to see the city and you get to meet people. i am so grateful we don’t ride bikes or have a car so we can be able to contact people.

I cannot stay away from the night shades because in every single meal basically the only thing that doesn’t have it, is a seaweed salad, the rice or sometimes they have cabbage sald. Heavenly Father has been blessing me with staying healthy from it. When we are at home we eat very well and keep away from it. It is very rude to not eat the food they give you so I eat it. I have been totally fine! ^^ I get tired but we are so busy that only by the end of the day does it really help me. I pray all the time to the Lord about it. I am praying for Creed too. Pray for it creed!
Yes, the competition is really bad. Kids stay in school all day and waaaay late into the night. sometimes they dn’t get home until 11:30 or 12 at night. apparantly the suicide rate is really high here becuase there is so much competition. i hope it gets better. It is because korea is soooo small but so many people live here. We are normally feeding ourselves. But sometimes we will have a 식사 (Shiksa-Food appointment) with members. It is always awesome! We have been fed a lot which is actually surprising cause normally they don’t feed you as much. But they always feed us tons of food and it is hard becuase you want to please them so you have to eat a ton. we basically don’t eat at all besides at that time. I am happy they are not too frequent.
I am soooooo happy for Brian! Please tell him that I am so happy for him. I know his life is going to be very blessed as he pursues the gospel. There is nothing that is better or more perfect. Heavenly Father loves him and I love him too. We are so blessed to have him in our lives. I am so happy that he is taking these steps. These are the most important but I know as he does so his life will be 10 times better. It will bless his life forever. You are the best St. Brian!!!!!!
I am sooo excited for JONNY!!!! Congratulations on your mission call!!! That is awesome!! I will write you! ^^
Look who I found? this is going to be on a members fridge. Cousin Jonny!
DSCF1497
It is completely safe to send stuff! No problems like Creed. Sorry Creed!
Ok, so everyone is asking about my birthday. It was really great!!! So far we have been fed 3 cakes. Hahaha and people keep wanting to do things for me. It kind of felt like any other day but it was still fun! Mom, thank you for the necklace and the bracelet!!! I love them both. I have been wearing them to! Love you!! So all in all it was great!
I love love love missionary work. It is seriously the most greatest thing ever!!! Wow, i love it a lot. I am so happy and I am doing super well. It has not been hard at all for me to adjust to missionary life. Heavenly Father is really blessing me and my companion. We feel his love and blessings everyday. It is all about obedience, reading your scriptures, praying, going to church, and keeping the commandments. Through those things Heavenly Father blesses us immenseley.
LOVE YOU ALLLLL!!!!!

week 4 – “We need to grab those hands that hang hopelessly down”

Hello Everyone!!!

This week has been fantastic! We are seeing the blessings that come from being exactly obedient. My companion and I decided we needed to work on being 100% obedient and it has created sooooo many miracles. We gained a new investigator, we have recieved a a lot of referrals, we have 3 new members for our English class, we are teaching with more power and with the spirit, 김윤애 kimyooneh our less active is drinking less coffee, and we have a for sure baptism on april 6th. It has made us completely exhausted by the end of the day though. Which is fantastic!!!! We are working hard and trying to be what the Lord wants us to be.

2. We made french toast for fhe! in a bowl like thing. We didn’t have a pan. This is a hilarious picture of my companion. Her face kills me. It is sooo funny!

3. We made this whiteboard, and we are soo proud of it hahaha

So, korea is still amazing and I love it! There are a few things that are interesting that we would never see in America. But i love it! There are sometimes tables with pig heads and feet, there is a lot of hanging meat, and fish everywhere! I love it! I love being in a completely different place. It makes everyday an adventure and soooo much fun!

On sunday we had an awesome 고기 (meat) party and our recent converts country home (natalia and her husband). It was a blast being able to spend time with the members and get to know them. We ate sooooo much meat! And we took a lot of oils to compensate it all and we feel a lot better. The korean bbq is sooooo good!

1. Delicious rice. Made out of a traditional pot for the meat party.

Me and my companion are reading Jesus the Christ. It is sooooooooo good and amzing! I really suggest reading it because you gain a lot of insight from it. It is amazing!!!! We are becoming obsessed with it.

I will leave a spiritual message. I was reading in the gospel principles book and it was on sacrifice. I wrote this quote in my planner…”People have always been tried and tested to see if they will put the things of God first in their lives”.

A lot of people don’t realize that God gives us trials so he can test us and see what we will do with them. We are tested on our reaction to what is lotted to us in this life. It is amazing that God blesses us more abundantly as we trudge through and come out better. Trials are for our benefit! There is no way better for us to learn then to go through trials. Heavenly Father is seriously the best!!! I love him and he loves us in return. This is what we are sharing. Our work with the less actives is bringing people back and lifting them up becuase they are hopelessly lost. I love this work and I am so grateful for what Heavenly Father is helping us do. This is His work, and we are his vessels. We need to keep the spirit of Christ within us. We can be powerful tools in his hands. BE THAT TOOL!!!!!

Week of Miracles (Week 2 in Korea!)

Hello Family and Friends!!

I LOVE KOREA!!!!! Every day I am so happy and grateful to be here. I still can’t believe and I just love it sooooo much already and I haven’t even been here 2 weeks yet! I love it, I love it, I love it! Missionary work is so fantastic and brings so much joy to me and my companion. we get soooo excited because the Lord has helped us and guided us. He has helped us with so man opportunities to do service and to guide people. He is the greatest! I feel his love everyday! I feel the love for these people everyday. They are so cute and are just the greatest. They are sooo kind!

I love Korea!

So, the first few days here in Korea we received alot of training and kind of just getting to know our mission rules and standards. We had a wonderful  전도 activity (Proselyting). It was a blast!!! Everyone was freaking out about my hair and my korean. We would be with a different companion every 20 minutes. President and Sister Gilbert were watching us to see how we got along. My companions were really surprised about my Korean, which I was surprised about. I am just glad that I can preach the gospel and say what I want. My teachers,  이 자매님 (Sister Lee) and Sagers 자매님 (Sister Sagers), prepared us soooo well! Also, Heavenly Father is always on our side! Which helps a ton! Then of course, we got to meet our real companion, which is Sister Benbrook. I already mentioned that but I do gotta say. I LOVE HER SOOOO MUCH! We are so meant to be together and we know why. We are both going to make so many changes here in 신정 Shinjong (this is our area) and the city we are in is 울산 Ulsan. It is soo great! I am so happy to be here. The members are so wonderful and they work so hard to help friends come to church, and less actives to become reactiviated. They are amazing!!!

We have a cute little 30 year old Korean girl that will be baptized this month on the 23rd! Her name is 오지윤 (Ohjiyoon). She is the greatest! Her brother is going to BYU-Provo and he is LDS. He has been encouraging her to join the church, which is fantastic! We are so happy and excited for her. She is so eager and wanting to learn more about our church. She wants to get baptized soooo bad!

Last pday we found some beautiful korean dishes in a ditch. They were absolutely nasty but we couldn’t resist the temptation of taking them and cleaning them up. I will be sharing pictures. It sounds ridiculous but it was a blast!!! We will have such good memories about them when we come back. Haha. We passed by it and I said it as a joke that we should take the dishes and clean them up. Then Sister Benbrook said we should totally do it and then I agreed. So, that is how things happened. I can’t believe we did but it was soooo much fun! hahaha. Afterwards, we went to a beautiful beach! It was gorgeous! I will send pictures. We went with our investigator and we had to hand her off to some other sister missionaries because they are whitewashing her area. It was sad to hand her off but we can’t teach her anymore because she is not in our area. The new sisters bonded really well with her and we are so happy about that. She is making sooo much progress!

This last week we got a really random, but not of course, call from a less active. She hasn’t been coming to church for a while so we were really happy to hear from her. She said she had a really bad day and needed a message from us. We were happy to do it. I felt really inspired to share a sentence from PMG and then also Joshua 1:9. I am so happy we shared those things because that is exactly what she needed to hear. The paragraph in the PMG talks about repentence and being able to feel peace. It also mentions that no matter what the Lord is with us but we have to do what he wants us to do to receive blessings. She needed that really bad. I love Heavenly Father and what he does to make us his hands. We are so blessed! We set up to meet with her but she got terribly sick. We will be meeting with her soon.

We have another investigator and her son, 황태숙 (Hwangtaysook) and her son we call him Jordan, and they have progressed just in the last two times we have met! They have been meeting with the missionaries since December and they are progressing more then ever. Jordan prays by himself occasionally and he loves learning about Jesus. He has sooo many questions. He is only 9 years old and speaks English super well. We are teaching his mom as well and she speaks well too. She prays all the time and reads the Book of Mormon. Jordan reads the little BofM story book. They are so great! We are super excited about them.

This last week, we met with a less active sister 김윤애 (kimyooneh). She is trying to stop drinking coffee. We met with her tuesday and challenged her to not drink any coffee at all from now on and also fast with us on saturday. We texted her 3 times a day to give her encouragement so she would be able to resist the temptation. We even were going to take her coffee away but her husband drinks it. We believe in her and know she can do it. She speaks English super well as well. Oh, BTW So many people speak English here! It is crazy. She hasn’t contacted us since so we don’t know what is going on but we pray for her daily. She is going to do it! We believe it! We meet her on tuesday so we will be able to catch up with her.

This last friday we had a Mission Tour. It was sooooooooooooo amazing!!!!!!! Elder and Sister Ringwood came and spoke to us. Everything they said was exactly what Sister Benbrook and I needed. We have a ton of Less actives in this area and we are trying to figure out what we can do about that. Our Branch is basically a ward but because there are so many less actives, it isn’t one yet. They only need a few more people to get a new building, be an official ward, and also become a stake. We are working so hard and know that Heavenly Father is blessing us so much.

So, last week most of our appointments dropped. Which was sad but not. We were able to get so many records organized, calls to the ward members, and figuring out who the lest actives are. Heavenly Father is giving us this time to find the less actives. We don’t have a lot of investigators anymore but we know exactly why. We are not bringing more people into the gospel at this moment but we are reviving the area. We were both sent here to do this work because Heavenly Father trusts the both of us to do. We  are excited and we are so grateful for the time that we have so we can meet less actives. Please pray for us to have success with the less actives. We are going to change this place and Heavenly Father knows we can do it! The Ringwoods taught us so much and we are so excited to apply it in our work. We are expecting miracles and they are going to happen! We believe it with every fiber of our being!

Last night, some sisters called us from another area with very, very exciting news. They tested out this idea that Sister Benbrook had a little bit ago. They had a sticker board with questions from the soul (they labeled it Questions of the heart because it is hard to describe soul in korean). People would put stickers where they had questions, then they would have to fill out a questionarre. Some of the questions were like, if you had an opportunity to figure your question now would you want to hear it, and stuff like that. Then we would use the Bof M to answer those questions right then and there. Guess how many BofMs they gave out in about 2 hours?…………………………..they gave out 46 BofMs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! isn’t that absolutely amazing?????? The sticker board is what first attracts them. One thing you got to know about Koreans is that they love using stickers and it works. We are going to do this as well. We are so pumped and cannot wait to do it. Please pray for us as well for success. We know it will work and we will plant seeds in peoples hearts and will bring many more into the gospel. Seriously, Heavenly Father is blessing us soooooooooooooooooooooooo much!

I am so grateful for this gospel and I know Heavenly Father is providing a way for us to expound and move forward his work. We see miracles all the time. Many have been small but huge in our eyes. Heavenly Father knows what we are capable of. With him nothing is impossble!! Nothing! I have seen first hand, everyday even. I love the gospel. I love being a MISSIONARY! I know this is what I am supposed to be doing and I know this is exactly where I am supposed to be. We have a lot of work ahead of us but it isn’t daunting at all. There is always a way and Heavenly Father is going to provide it. I’m speaking to all missionaries in the field or member missionaries: NEVER EVER lose your faith or hope. Heavenly Father is always there for us! We can DO ANYTHING if we trust in him. Trust in yourself and trust that Heavenly Father is going to use you. Take that extra mile. Do and Follow. You will bless so many lives! I believe in all of you and I am praying for you all.

Also, the Ringwoods and our mission are really working for ward missionary work. It works and it is something that needs to be pushed. Every member is a missionary. We are commanded to share the gospel. Heavenly Father will bless us so much if we just put our foot out and the door and find those less actives or share the gospel with people we know. You will be blessed. Help the missionaries out as well, they need your help and can help you so much with your missionary work.

You are all fantastic! You are all amazing and doing such a wonderful job!

LOVE YOU ALL!

Hello From Korea

Hello Everyone!!

I just got to say I love Korea! It is seriously the greatest thing! I am so happy to be here. I am sorry but I don’t have much time to write. Today was super busy. I am actually allowed to email for 2 hours! But we couldn’t today.

So, our first week has been amazing! We are SOOOOO BUSY! We have so many investigators which is awesome. We are also planning on having 6 baptisms this transfer! I will let you know how it goes. Next week I promise I will write more about exactly what I did for these past few days.

I am in Ulsan right now (울산) and my trainer is Sister Benbrook. We are both working hard and loving it here. I am so happy to be a missionary. It is the greatest!

Ulsan, S Korea
I am sooo sorry but I really have to go. I took too much time reading all of the emails and I have to email my branch president.

I will just say this…. Sister Benbrook and I are making things happen and we are working hard. I love missionary work and could not imagine myself anywhere else. I am so happy. I love the people already. Everyone tells me I am so beautiful and that I speak amazing Korean (even when I say hello hahahah). I am so happy that we had so much practice with our Korean in the MTC. It has really helped with everything. A lot of people are speaking to us, and you were all right, because of my hair and because we are both Americans. It opens doors. Heavenly Father has also blessed us with being able to contact many people and to have sooooooo many investigators. We have no time for anything but them.

Today we had a ton of fun! We went with an investigator to a beautiful beach and ate delicious food. It is sooo healthy here. I love it! It makes me feel soooo good! We also had many adventures today. Next week I will be better and write everything that has happened. I have to go. LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Sister Orme’s safe arrival

Dear Brother and Sister Orme,

Recently Sister Gilbert and I had the choice opportunity of meeting your daughter at the airport and welcoming her to Busan.  Even though her flight had been lengthy and she had little chance to sleep, she was still cheerful and smiling.

We have been anticipating her arrival and it was wonderful to finally meet her.  We spent two days together and had an opportunity to visit privately together in the Mission Home.  We also enjoyed a very spiritual training period where Sister Orme expressed her desire to serve the Savior and the Korean people.

Sister Orme was also able to meet her new companion who is an outstanding missionary and an excellent trainer.  We know that they will grow together in service and love as they teach investigators and members in their new area.

Missionary work in the Busan Mission is new and exciting, and our missionaries find great rewards in serving the Lord here.  Sister Orme will learn much about herself, our Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel as she serves with all her heart, might, mind and strength in the Lord’s work.  She will come to understand her role as a disciple of Christ. (3Ne. 5:13)

We are grateful for her willingness and her worthiness to serve.  We thank you for preparing her and for sharing her with the Korea Busan Mission.  We know that her devoted efforts will richly bless the lives of your family.

We thank you for your support and ask you to write regular encouraging letters and send faith promoting experiences to her . We know that as Sister Orme works with all her heart, might, mind and strength she will have a most amazing missionary experience.  We know  you will experience the miracle that is missionary work through your daughter’s fine and diligent efforts.

Packages from home are always welcome and most products will arrive safely and not incur any customs fees.  Please do not send beef jerky, it would be confiscated, and it is available here for purchase at Costco.  We have also found that sending packages by international mail is generally preferable to using international courier services such as FedEx or DHL.  Courier packages come to the street address of the mission home and there are times when no one is available to sign for them.  Courier packages are also much more likely to be subjected to greater customs scrutiny, delay, storage fees, etc.  US International Priority Mail is fast and provides several fixed-price boxes that do not have specific weight restrictions.  We check with our post office every day, so if you use the post office box address below, your package will be picked up immediately and delivered quickly and safely:

Sister Gilbert and I are honored to stand beside these tremendous young men and women in this sacred calling. Thank you again for your sacrifice and service.  We pray that the Lord will continue to bless you and your family and keep you ever in His watchful care.

Faithfully yours,
