Week 32- My trainee!

Hello Dearest Family and Friends!
Well, this week was fantastic! I have a cute little trainee under my wing. I am grateful and humbled by this opportunity that the Lord has given me. Her name is Sister Kim Da Jin. Yes, she is korean! My first korean companion and she is my trainee. We are basically the same person. 🙂 It is awesome. We both want to work hard, we are clean, and best of all we want to serve the Lord with all our hearts. She is good at English but not at the same time. One thing that I am extra grateful for is all of sudden this week, I can understand most of everything that people say! The week before I still could catch a few things here and there but not all. The Lord has seriously blessed me. I know that as I continue to be humble the Lord will help increase my understanding. So, despite my cute little companion not having perfect english we are able to communicate just perfectly fine! We laughed about that exact thing the other day. We were talking about how for some reason we have been able to almost completly be able to understand each other despite not being very fluent in both english and korean. She understands a lot but can’t speak super well. Oh I love it! My Korean is really progressing. Such a blessing. She works so hard and wants to be the best. I love it. She is just solid and is a really good teacher! We work so well with each other. Now, I am not afraid to talk to anyone! I know that if there is something important that I need to understand the Lord will help me. Missionaries: DON’T BE AFRAID TO SPEAK! I used to be but as I have come to know more and more that as we speak we will be blessed!
My cute little trainee! ^^

This week was amazing. I kept being reminded that we need to be humble, meek and lowly of heart as we go about doing the work of the Lord. I know that I am trying but it is always a good reminder because we can’t be completely who Heavenly Father wants us to be if we are selfish, prideful and lack lowliness in our hearts. As we pray, read the scriptures, go to church, and do what Heavenly Father wants us to do we will be able to be humble, meek and lowly. I know what my purpose is and right now I am a missionary. I am helping others come unto Christ to feel the joy and healing power of the atonement by repenting, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost and helping them endure to the end. One thing that I do know is that the Gospel heals wounds, and helps bring families together. It is all because of our Savior, Jesus Christ! I love him and know that he died for all of us that we may be able to be forgiven and live with our Heavenly Father again.
I love you all soooooooooooo much!

Week 16- I am a Disciple of Christ

Hello Family and Friends!
This week was a very busy week! We have so many people we are teaching right now! It is crazy but a very big blessing. There is not really much to say because our new investigators are not really ready for very big things but we are teaching them the gospel little by little. It is great!
Something hilarious that happened this week was while we are teaching one of our new investigators. We were in our city hall at the top in an observatory where you can see the whole city if Shinjeong. All of a sudden a swarm of Nigerians attacked us! They kept asking to take pictures with us and sitting next to us. Sometime, well actually the whole time, sitting waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy to close and basically on me. ahh! It was intense. It is the closest I have ever gotten to feeling like a celebrity. Wow, I don’t like it. They were hilarious though! It felt like Sister Yokum and I were movie stars. It was crazy! The tour guide was hilairous! He spoke english and asked us if we could understand them at all and we could understand him better then the Nigerians! so funny. But he had to keep telling them that they had no time and needed to go. It was hilarious. Sister Yokum and I were exhausted. too much pressure! our investigator was laughing sooooo hard! It is normal to be stared at over here in korea and to be told you are beautiful but never have we ever experienced that! Koreans are too shy for that!
Sister Yokum’s health is basically improving. She definitely has to get her tonsils taken out but we are hoping and praying she will be able to last the rest of her mission. If she does have to get her tonsils taken out now she would just go home and end her mission. We are fasting and praying to see what the Lord wants for her. She doesn’t want to go home. She is amazing and such a good missionary! It would be terrible for her to leave about 2 transfers early! But we also don’t want to kill her.
Sunday I translated for the first time ever! Waaahh! I translated our gospel principles class for an american girl. I didn’t do too bad but also I kind of just added things to the lesson. ^^ I got a sense of what the teacher was saying and kind of just say what he says and then added to it. So, it went great! It was hard but it went well. Success for the week! Korean is getting easier and easier to understand but still some people and the way they talk is super hard! A lot of people have different ways of speaking and it can be hard to understand.
The ward members are amazing!!! They help me soo much with my Korean and they always speak to me even though they totally know I am still trying to understand. But what is amazing is that I am actually starting to understand them! I am seriously amazed. It is not me, it is the Lord! He is helping me so much! If I wasn’t a missionary I wouldn’t be able to learn and understand korean this fast!
3 Nephi 5:13 We recite this scripture every day in Korean. It is amazing what the Lord can do through us as disciples of Christ. Read it this week and apply it. Always remember that you are always a representative of the Lord, no matter what! Even though you may not have a missionary tag setting you apart as one, you totally are! Everyday walk like a representative of Christ! Share the gospel, it will not only bless other people’s lives but yours as well.
I LOVE YOU ALL TONS!!!! This gospel is so true and I love sharing it. Being a missionary is the best thing in the whole world!!!!!!

Week of Miracles (Week 2 in Korea!)

Hello Family and Friends!!

I LOVE KOREA!!!!! Every day I am so happy and grateful to be here. I still can’t believe and I just love it sooooo much already and I haven’t even been here 2 weeks yet! I love it, I love it, I love it! Missionary work is so fantastic and brings so much joy to me and my companion. we get soooo excited because the Lord has helped us and guided us. He has helped us with so man opportunities to do service and to guide people. He is the greatest! I feel his love everyday! I feel the love for these people everyday. They are so cute and are just the greatest. They are sooo kind!

I love Korea!

So, the first few days here in Korea we received alot of training and kind of just getting to know our mission rules and standards. We had a wonderful  전도 activity (Proselyting). It was a blast!!! Everyone was freaking out about my hair and my korean. We would be with a different companion every 20 minutes. President and Sister Gilbert were watching us to see how we got along. My companions were really surprised about my Korean, which I was surprised about. I am just glad that I can preach the gospel and say what I want. My teachers,  이 자매님 (Sister Lee) and Sagers 자매님 (Sister Sagers), prepared us soooo well! Also, Heavenly Father is always on our side! Which helps a ton! Then of course, we got to meet our real companion, which is Sister Benbrook. I already mentioned that but I do gotta say. I LOVE HER SOOOO MUCH! We are so meant to be together and we know why. We are both going to make so many changes here in 신정 Shinjong (this is our area) and the city we are in is 울산 Ulsan. It is soo great! I am so happy to be here. The members are so wonderful and they work so hard to help friends come to church, and less actives to become reactiviated. They are amazing!!!

We have a cute little 30 year old Korean girl that will be baptized this month on the 23rd! Her name is 오지윤 (Ohjiyoon). She is the greatest! Her brother is going to BYU-Provo and he is LDS. He has been encouraging her to join the church, which is fantastic! We are so happy and excited for her. She is so eager and wanting to learn more about our church. She wants to get baptized soooo bad!

Last pday we found some beautiful korean dishes in a ditch. They were absolutely nasty but we couldn’t resist the temptation of taking them and cleaning them up. I will be sharing pictures. It sounds ridiculous but it was a blast!!! We will have such good memories about them when we come back. Haha. We passed by it and I said it as a joke that we should take the dishes and clean them up. Then Sister Benbrook said we should totally do it and then I agreed. So, that is how things happened. I can’t believe we did but it was soooo much fun! hahaha. Afterwards, we went to a beautiful beach! It was gorgeous! I will send pictures. We went with our investigator and we had to hand her off to some other sister missionaries because they are whitewashing her area. It was sad to hand her off but we can’t teach her anymore because she is not in our area. The new sisters bonded really well with her and we are so happy about that. She is making sooo much progress!

This last week we got a really random, but not of course, call from a less active. She hasn’t been coming to church for a while so we were really happy to hear from her. She said she had a really bad day and needed a message from us. We were happy to do it. I felt really inspired to share a sentence from PMG and then also Joshua 1:9. I am so happy we shared those things because that is exactly what she needed to hear. The paragraph in the PMG talks about repentence and being able to feel peace. It also mentions that no matter what the Lord is with us but we have to do what he wants us to do to receive blessings. She needed that really bad. I love Heavenly Father and what he does to make us his hands. We are so blessed! We set up to meet with her but she got terribly sick. We will be meeting with her soon.

We have another investigator and her son, 황태숙 (Hwangtaysook) and her son we call him Jordan, and they have progressed just in the last two times we have met! They have been meeting with the missionaries since December and they are progressing more then ever. Jordan prays by himself occasionally and he loves learning about Jesus. He has sooo many questions. He is only 9 years old and speaks English super well. We are teaching his mom as well and she speaks well too. She prays all the time and reads the Book of Mormon. Jordan reads the little BofM story book. They are so great! We are super excited about them.

This last week, we met with a less active sister 김윤애 (kimyooneh). She is trying to stop drinking coffee. We met with her tuesday and challenged her to not drink any coffee at all from now on and also fast with us on saturday. We texted her 3 times a day to give her encouragement so she would be able to resist the temptation. We even were going to take her coffee away but her husband drinks it. We believe in her and know she can do it. She speaks English super well as well. Oh, BTW So many people speak English here! It is crazy. She hasn’t contacted us since so we don’t know what is going on but we pray for her daily. She is going to do it! We believe it! We meet her on tuesday so we will be able to catch up with her.

This last friday we had a Mission Tour. It was sooooooooooooo amazing!!!!!!! Elder and Sister Ringwood came and spoke to us. Everything they said was exactly what Sister Benbrook and I needed. We have a ton of Less actives in this area and we are trying to figure out what we can do about that. Our Branch is basically a ward but because there are so many less actives, it isn’t one yet. They only need a few more people to get a new building, be an official ward, and also become a stake. We are working so hard and know that Heavenly Father is blessing us so much.

So, last week most of our appointments dropped. Which was sad but not. We were able to get so many records organized, calls to the ward members, and figuring out who the lest actives are. Heavenly Father is giving us this time to find the less actives. We don’t have a lot of investigators anymore but we know exactly why. We are not bringing more people into the gospel at this moment but we are reviving the area. We were both sent here to do this work because Heavenly Father trusts the both of us to do. We  are excited and we are so grateful for the time that we have so we can meet less actives. Please pray for us to have success with the less actives. We are going to change this place and Heavenly Father knows we can do it! The Ringwoods taught us so much and we are so excited to apply it in our work. We are expecting miracles and they are going to happen! We believe it with every fiber of our being!

Last night, some sisters called us from another area with very, very exciting news. They tested out this idea that Sister Benbrook had a little bit ago. They had a sticker board with questions from the soul (they labeled it Questions of the heart because it is hard to describe soul in korean). People would put stickers where they had questions, then they would have to fill out a questionarre. Some of the questions were like, if you had an opportunity to figure your question now would you want to hear it, and stuff like that. Then we would use the Bof M to answer those questions right then and there. Guess how many BofMs they gave out in about 2 hours?…………………………..they gave out 46 BofMs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! isn’t that absolutely amazing?????? The sticker board is what first attracts them. One thing you got to know about Koreans is that they love using stickers and it works. We are going to do this as well. We are so pumped and cannot wait to do it. Please pray for us as well for success. We know it will work and we will plant seeds in peoples hearts and will bring many more into the gospel. Seriously, Heavenly Father is blessing us soooooooooooooooooooooooo much!

I am so grateful for this gospel and I know Heavenly Father is providing a way for us to expound and move forward his work. We see miracles all the time. Many have been small but huge in our eyes. Heavenly Father knows what we are capable of. With him nothing is impossble!! Nothing! I have seen first hand, everyday even. I love the gospel. I love being a MISSIONARY! I know this is what I am supposed to be doing and I know this is exactly where I am supposed to be. We have a lot of work ahead of us but it isn’t daunting at all. There is always a way and Heavenly Father is going to provide it. I’m speaking to all missionaries in the field or member missionaries: NEVER EVER lose your faith or hope. Heavenly Father is always there for us! We can DO ANYTHING if we trust in him. Trust in yourself and trust that Heavenly Father is going to use you. Take that extra mile. Do and Follow. You will bless so many lives! I believe in all of you and I am praying for you all.

Also, the Ringwoods and our mission are really working for ward missionary work. It works and it is something that needs to be pushed. Every member is a missionary. We are commanded to share the gospel. Heavenly Father will bless us so much if we just put our foot out and the door and find those less actives or share the gospel with people we know. You will be blessed. Help the missionaries out as well, they need your help and can help you so much with your missionary work.

You are all fantastic! You are all amazing and doing such a wonderful job!

LOVE YOU ALL!

Hello From Korea

Hello Everyone!!

I just got to say I love Korea! It is seriously the greatest thing! I am so happy to be here. I am sorry but I don’t have much time to write. Today was super busy. I am actually allowed to email for 2 hours! But we couldn’t today.

So, our first week has been amazing! We are SOOOOO BUSY! We have so many investigators which is awesome. We are also planning on having 6 baptisms this transfer! I will let you know how it goes. Next week I promise I will write more about exactly what I did for these past few days.

I am in Ulsan right now (울산) and my trainer is Sister Benbrook. We are both working hard and loving it here. I am so happy to be a missionary. It is the greatest!

Ulsan, S Korea
I am sooo sorry but I really have to go. I took too much time reading all of the emails and I have to email my branch president.

I will just say this…. Sister Benbrook and I are making things happen and we are working hard. I love missionary work and could not imagine myself anywhere else. I am so happy. I love the people already. Everyone tells me I am so beautiful and that I speak amazing Korean (even when I say hello hahahah). I am so happy that we had so much practice with our Korean in the MTC. It has really helped with everything. A lot of people are speaking to us, and you were all right, because of my hair and because we are both Americans. It opens doors. Heavenly Father has also blessed us with being able to contact many people and to have sooooooo many investigators. We have no time for anything but them.

Today we had a ton of fun! We went with an investigator to a beautiful beach and ate delicious food. It is sooo healthy here. I love it! It makes me feel soooo good! We also had many adventures today. Next week I will be better and write everything that has happened. I have to go. LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Can I just stick my hand in your armpit, it is really cold! – Sister Hoffman

Hello Family and Friends-

Sister Hoffman just asked me the above question while we were emailing. So, it had to be the subject line.

Well, I am finally better from my cold. I still have a little cough and a sometimes I need to blow my nose but I feel fantastic!

This week has been really great. My Korean is getting tons better and it feels great! We have such cute natives and they are so wonderful!!!!!!

Creed left this week. We had a wonderful Sunday together. We had about 3 hours together which was superb! We had dinner together, then we just hung out afterward. We shared our testimonies in our languages and took pictures. Definitely black mail worthy pictures. Don’t you worry Derek. Creed might send them to you. Afterward we went to the devotional together. It was just so nice being able to spend time with him. I cried a little. I am going to miss him but I know this is the time for us to be on missions and we are exactly where Heavenly Father wants us to be. We took one last photo together. Then He had to run off and catch his bus. The funny thing is when he hugged me, he hugged me soo hard my belt broke. A saint of an Elder fixed it for me and it works perfectly well. We call him the Wizard because he can fix ANYTHING! No joke, we don’t know how he does it but he is magical. When I asked permission to set up a meeting with my brother our zone president told me that I shouldn’t hide the fact that siblings can meet but I shouldn’t boast about it and show off what I was allowed to do. So that is what can happen at the MTC if you ever want to see your sibling before you go. He told me that we were an unusual case but he was happy to give me the permission to be with him.

We have had really good speakers this week that just spoke all the right words. I don’t have much time to right it all down but I know that Heavenly Father is always there for anyone. He will bless you immensely as long as you work hard and you follow his commandments. He is so good.

One of the biggest things that I have done this week to promote my faith was by doing the Attribute Activity in the PMG (the missionary Preach My Gospel manual). I suggest EVERYONE do that. Please do it. It will bless your life. It is a good measurement of where you stand. I decided to just start with the first attribute of Christ, which was faith. Wow, I learned so much and wrote pages and pages of things that I felt and was thinking throughout my study. Please do it. It will open your eyes of what you need to work on and will strengthen your faith, or any attribute of Christ you want to work on. It is somewhat personal but I know my thoughts will help others if I share them. This is what I wrote in my journal: “It looks like I need to develop my faith more. Especially about believing it can produce miracles. I believe i can bring miracles but i need to believe i=that i can create miracles, through Heavenly Father of course, in my life according to my faith. I know I need to be a little more confident in myself to be a vessel of the Lord. I know I have really good faith, I trust in the Lord and know he will help me. Ether 12:6 is really powerful. I know that I won’t see the miracle until after the trial of my faith. Hebrews 11:1 “…faith is the substance (assurance) of things hoped for…” Faith is assuring. I know faith can make me whole, or anyone whole for that matter. Faith and doubt/fear cannot embody your mind at one time. As long as I have only faith on my mind, I can’t doubt or fear. From now until the end of my life I want to say I had enough faith to say i fought the good fight, i have finished my course, i have kept the faith. I will strive to make sure I will work for faith. Faith without works is dead. By works is faith made perfect. I need more confidence in myself to have full confidence in  the Lord. Faith comes from righteousness. If i am exactly obedient, there is no room for error. I know that perfect faith comes from perfect knowledge. I need to gain more knowledge and strive to be more like Jesus. If I strive to be the best I can, strive to be as obedient as I can, my faith will grow. 2 Nephi 25: 29 As long as I believe/worship Christ with all my might, mind and strength my faith will grow. I can obtain my faith through Christ. Jesus Christ works through the hearts of the people. By the power of the Holy Ghost can our faith be strengthened. Knowledge, trust, diligence, and enduring to the end will help our faith grow (Mosiah 4:6). The Atonement works miracles. The Atonement is essential to everything. Belief in ALL of God, who he is and what he is strengthens our faith (Mosiah 4:9). We can’t comprehend everything that he has for us, but in due time we will know. We just need to trust in him.

I had many more thoughts but I don’t have enough time to write it all down.

FYI mom. We have the missionary bags and the XX came as well. I gave the vitamins to creed and creed gave me my bag on sunday. Thank you soooooooooo much mom!!! i Love the bag and was sooooo excited to use it. It looks awesome and is such a cool bag. It has so many nooks and crannys for everything!! i just love it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are the best!

Sorry I will write what my schedule is like next week. I will write to you all the rest of the things you wanted to know. I love you all!

Sadly, this monday Sister Hoffman, Bagley, Glauser, and a lot of other missionaries are leaving this monday. Which is sad and sort of depressing. Apparently, I get to have a say of who my new companion will be. I will keep you up to date!!!

Trust in the LORD! He is always there for you and will help you with everything that you need. JOSHUA 1:9. Remember that promise everyday.

I LOVE YOU ALL. YOU ARE ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I pray for you all. Let me know if there is anything else you need me to pray about because prayers from missionaries are powerful. I am not being self rightious haha. In general prayers from missionaries are powerful.

Goodbye! Walk in faith this week! Figure out what you can learn better this week. Seriously, do the PMG Attribute Activity and then study what you need to work on. You will be blessed!

Love, Orme Chamay

“Why are you cutting me down?”

Hello Family and Friends!!!

So, Thursdays are now my pdays. My schedule has changed. Creed’s are now Saturdays, just an fyi.

This week has just been wonderful! I love being a missionary and learning to be a better missionary. My Korean is better! Thank goodness. I still can’t believe I know so much already though. It is a blessing.

I was reading in the Bible Dictionary about Faith. Wow, it is amazing. Go read it now! I wrote in my journal my thoughts. This is what I wrote “Wow, faith is an amazing thing. Faith is so powerful. I was reading in the bible dictionary about faith. Here are some highlights. “The Lord has revealed himself and his perfect character, possessing himself and his perfect character, possessing in their fullness all the attributes of love, knowledge, justice, mercy, unchangeableness, power, and every other needful thing so as to enable the mind of man to place confidence in him without reservation….Faith is a principle of action and of power…since true faith always moves its possessor to some kind of physical and mental action: it carries an assurance of the fulfillment of the things hoped for. A lack of faith leads one to despair, which comes because of iniquity…although faith is a gift, it must be cultured and sought after…”. Faith is so powerful. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ can help us with our faith. As we strive to do the best we can Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will help with the rest. We are capable to have the power of God. Faith can sometimes be cut down or obliterated but as long as we keep going we can pick ourselves back up again. It reminds me of the analogy of the tree and the woodsman…The tree keeps getting cut down, grows some more, then cut down again. The tree asks the woodsman why do you keep cutting me down? The woodsmen says “I am cutting you down to make you stronger. I am cutting you down because I love you. Because of me cutting you down you become strong and more firm about who you are and what you can become.” Sometimes things happen. Sometimes we are cut down. Sometimes we feel small. Sometimes we feel alone. But heavenly Father knows us and loves us. He gives us challenges so we can grow. He makes our weak things become strong. He knows we can handle it. He knows we can overcome. He never gives us anything that we can’t overcome. That is why God is so good. He knows us. As we do this we become more like him and come closer to him. “Fear not, neither be faint-hearted” (Isaiah 7:4).

I love the gospel and know it is true with all my heart! Heavenly Father is there for you and he loves you dearly. He wants all of us to return to him.

What is even more awesome is after that we had a mission conference on Sunday since it was fast Sunday. Brother and Sister Johnson spoke. Brother Johnson’s mission president was President Groberg (The Other Side of Heaven story). They had some really good points that just enhanced my love of faith.

– Our finest hour could follow our darkest hour. Tough times don’t last, tough people do.
– God will not allow you to fail as long as you remain obedient.
– Whom the Lord calls, he qualifies, he will not allow you to fail.

They were amazing!!! Such great inspiration from these two.

So, of course language study cannot move forward without another funny. During our lesson with an investigator we were talking about prophets. I meant to share the scripture Amos 3:7 which is a nice simple little scripture about prophets. Well, instead of that one I shared Amos 2:7. Read it. It is hilarious! She was so confused and we didn’t know until after. We just responded like “yeah prophets are cool, we don’t know what you are asking.” Haha. Our class died laughing when we found out. I am so happy these things are happening in the MTC not in the field. But I feel like it is inevitable in the field to happen. I am glad that I can bring so much joy to my district with my funnies.

Today we went to the temple for the first time in a while. It was amazing!!!!! I love the temple and felt the spirit so strongly. It was so wonderful to be back in the temple. I missed it so much. Not being able to go for a while was terrible. I know I will have to get used to it, since I will only ever go to the temple, besides in the mtc, on my mission once at the end of my mission. I am so grateful that the temple is so close and that we get to go once a week! It is the best.

Well, I love you tons!! I am going to send pics in a few minutes. Hopefully, we will see. If not, definitely next week for sure.

Love, Orme Chamay

p.s. thank you for all of your letters!! they are the greatest and I get so pumped when I get them! I love reading about everyone’s lives.

“I am grateful that my companions are dead”

Hello Family and Friends!

Yep, I said “I am grateful that my companions are dead” in a prayer with our investigator. Hahah. Our investigator becomes our teacher and we asked her if there was anything funny that we had said to her and she told us the only one was me and that is what I said. Well, I am grateful that my companions are alive and well.

1. Me and my I’m-grateful-she’s-alive companion, Sister Hoffman.

I can’t tell you all enough how much I love the MTC. I am learning so much. It is teaching me to become a better missionary but also a hand of the Lord. The spirit here is so strong and strengthens my testimony everyday. I am so grateful to be here!

I just want to say I am so grateful for the Lord and what he has done for me. He has been watching over me every step of the way. I have been so blessed to be here at this time. My companion, district, zone strengthen my testimony and we all strive to be better people. I am reminded daily that I am so blessed to be on a mission. God is so good and knows exactly what we need. Our zone loves spending time with each other and we all want to be friends, which is fantastic! It really brings warm feelings to the zone when we all have one purpose and want to help each other with that purpose.

So, I learned that Enthusiasm comes from the greek word which is theos which means God. When we have enthusiasm it means we have God within us! So live life with ENTHUSIASM. It makes life so much better when we have God on our side.

Our Branch Presidencies theme for our zone is W.I.N. What’s Important Now. As we remember this we will realize every time that we need to make every moment count. I am striving to do just that as I make every moment meaningful.

I am so grateful that the MTC has the spirit everywhere. It is so much more meaningful to teach by the spirit when you can feel the spirit constantly. As we know the spirit, we will know his mission.

I am so grateful for the Elders in my district. Seriously, they are the most kind-hearted, sweetest, and wonderful human beings. They have such strong testimonies and share it constantly and show it through their actions. I am so blessed. They teach me everyday. I love being with them. They ask me questions about things like I am their older sister. Sometimes they even do call me the older sister of our district family. We have so much fun and learn so much together. Even though they are so young, they know so much already and they amaze me. They are really ready and they want to learn. I am so thankful that we don’t have any problems with each other. We love each other so much! It is amazing that we all can love each other so much and know each other so well in just a few short weeks. I constantly thank my Heavenly Father for their examples and strength.

Throughout the soon to be 3 WEEKS at the MTC I have learned more and more about the reason why missionary work and being a missionary is so important. The mission is really about inviting others to come unto Christ by teaching and helping them, the investigators/others, with the steps towards faith and true conversion. We are their guides but they have to do most of the work in their testimony building. We can’t build their testimony for them. They will be leaning on the missionaries testimony rather then their own if we do that. It is so vital that you have the spirit with you, always. It doesn’t matter if you can’t speak everything that you want to say in Korean, as long as the spirit is there with you and you are sincere. The Lord will fill any gap or any barrier that you have as long as you try your hardest. It is not about being a perfect missionary, it is about having perfect faith that the Lord will help and guide you as you try (your hardest) to teach your investigators. Also, if you don’t have anything else to say or don’t understand what the investigator says just bear your testimony and the people you are teaching will be touched and will know that you are being sincere. The Lord is always there for you as long as you stay faithful and endure. Making connections with your investigator helps them feel your love and sincerity. It is so important to teach by the spirit. Just loving those around you will show them that you truly care about them and are teaching them because we truly care about their well-being.

I can’t believe I have been here almost 3 weeks! It is crazy!

Thank you to everyone for all of your love, your letters, pictures, everything! I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has blessed me with such great family, and friends.

Merry Christmas!!!!

Well, it’s Christmas day. I will give a full blown detailed letter on Friday. I don’t have much time to write.

I love you all so much and hope today is a wonderful day full of happiness and the love of Christ.

I am so grateful for all of you and I thank you for the examples you have set for me. They have really tried to make the Christmas season as amazing as possible. They have had a speaker last night who was Elder Evans of the seventy. He was amazing! Then we watched the nativity and Mr Kruegers Christmas.

I know that Heavenly Father lives and loves us. He has helped us all have the spirit and be able to learn super quickly. I already know how to read, say my prayer, and my testimony in Korean. What the??? right? The gift of tongues is real and I am so grateful for it.

It was fun, Creed and I ended sitting close by each other during the devotional. It was a pleasant surprise. This is the second time I have seen him. which is nice because he lives in Wyview. I will be able to see him every Sunday!!! yippee!

times up! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
love you!!!!!
